Inspiration

I am fascinated by the 3D artwork of Stefan Thompson. He uses recylced materials and fabrics to create 3D models, often based on animals and people. I really like the textures he achieves by just using easy to find materials, and finding environmental alternatives to some materials. The resulting models are beautiful in their uniqueness, and the roughness of the materials give the model character and energy.
Many of the humanoid models he creates such as "SnowScream" (which is made of snow, charcoal and twigs) relate of Sigmund Freud's essay on "The Uncanny." The photograph of this model evokes a sense of fear, as it resembles a basic human form, but doesn't move and doesnt have facial features of a human being. Looking at horror films and nightmares, the antagonist is often human or humanoid, but disfigured in some way, and far enough from the appearance of a human to be unsettling.

I have been looking into these theories to discover how to make an "Uncanny" character and what codes I need to use to achieve this.
